Ankara, April 30, IRNA – An Iranian citizen was shot dead in Istanbul, Turkey, Saturday night while his car was stopped and sprayed with bullets by gunmen, Turkish media reported.
The man and his companion were assassinated as they were commuting in a luxury car in Sarıyer district in northernmost part of Istanbul on the European side of the city, Turkish Hurriyet Daily News reported.
One of the two persons was killed and the other one who was seriously injured was rushed to a nearby hospital, the report added not mentioning the names of the victims.
However, other reports coming from Turkey referred to the killed Iranian citizen as Director of the GEM TV Group Saeed Karimian.
No Turkish official has so far commented on the incident.
